Elijah originally comes from his hometown of Patton, Pennsylvania. As a medical student, he has been an active promoter of sexual health, implementing an 18-session sexual health elective, and started the Medical Student Pride Alliance. He has participated in PREP and STI research in New York City prior to medical school and worked as a Program Associate in Honduras with Global Brigades for two years. He has also been an advocate for Spanish-speaking patient, serving as a volunteer at clinics for Spanish-speaking patients and facilitating multiple Spanish electives. He has a strong interest in working with and advocating for LGBTQ+ communities. For his work, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society. His future interests include working in primary care for queer communities, academic medicine, and urban medicine.
