Maria is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. As a medical student, she has been dedicated to advocating for underserved communities, leading multiple free clinics in Indiana, working with Habitat for Humanity, and participating in the Public Health Scholarly Concentration. She is a true leader, serving as President of the Medical Student council, overseeing the involvement and student advocacy at the Indiana University School of Medicine. As an advocate for the needs of patients and advocates, she expanded the role of the medical student council to advocacy for students’ resilience and wellness needs at IU. She is a true advocate for her patients and her colleagues. She was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society. She sees herself as a Med-Peds generalist and an advocate for her patients. She enjoys Henna, ice cream, road trips and travelling. We are so excited to have Maria join our amazing Med-Peds family.
