Mikayla is originally from Concord, North Carolina. As a medical student here at UM, Mikayla was very involved with the Human Rights Clinic serving as an executive board member, the DOCS program, and as a patient navigator with the Reproductive Health Advocates. Her public health work led her to working with the Bolivian Ministry of Health focused on evidence-based policies for prevention of adolescent pregnancy. She also served as a peer teaching assistant in the school of medicine. She is dedicated to global health work and working with immigrant patients here in Miami. She has an interest in both inpatient and outpatient Med-Peds working in an academic setting. We are so excited to have Mikayla staying with us here in Miami and joining our amazing Med-Peds family
