Undergraduate: B.S. Cell and Molecular Biology, Missouri State University
Nicole comes to us from Missouri. Nicole has an interest in global health and has already established herself as a self-starter in global health. She led the global health interest group at Mizzou and served as a Boren fellow between her third and fourth year, living in Brazil and setting up her own research project and learning Portuguese. She also contributed to bacteriophage therapy research and incorporated protocols in an international collaborative project in Salvador, Brazil that she led. She has also served as pharmacy chair for the MedZou clinic. In medical school, she was also a global health and rural health scholar, and participated in a quality improvement project in hepatitis C. Her future career interests include hospital medicine, primary care, and possibly infectious diseases. We are excited to have Nicole join our Med-Peds community and her future career in global health and medicine.
