Medical Educator Track
Our Medical Educator Pathway is designed to transform motivated residents from clinicians who educate into dual clinician educators and future leaders in medical education. This carefully curated pathway includes a dedicated academic leadership elective to develop the knowledge and skills to teach both in the classroom and at the bedside, as well as to lead a team on the wards and in the office.
ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP ELECTIVE:
Each of our Med Ed residents participates in an intense two-week workshop aimed to create future leaders in medical education. Created and led by faculty with extensive backgrounds in education and/or business administration, residents receive interactive, hands-on training in the following areas:
Strategic Management and Leadership in an Academic Medical Center (Dr. Stefanie Brown. MD, MBA)
Utilizing Backward Design to Create and Deliver Effective Teaching Sessions (Dr. Kendra Van Kirk. MD, MAT)
