Med-Peds URiM Visiting Scholars Program
We welcome you to experience the UM/Jackson Med-Peds Residency Program through our Med-Peds elective tailored to your educational and professional needs while learning more about our diverse community here in Miami. Our URiM Visiting Scholars Program is an initiative of our MAEREA committee.
To serve the needs of our patient population, URiM at Jackson MedPeds refers to trainees who identify as a member of a racial and/or ethnic population who are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population. These include Afro-Caribbean, Black/African American, Afro-Latinx/Latinx/Hispanic, Native American/Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.
Program Elements:
2 week experience in the Med-Peds MDR 1013 Rotation
Dedicated URiM med-peds faculty and resident mentors
Meeting with the Program Director and Leadership
$2500 stipend for travel and living expenses
Networking with URiM residents and faculty
Participation in Med-Peds, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine Educational conferences.
The MDR 1013 rotation includes clinical and educational experiences working in our Med-Peds Outpatient Clinics, inpatient pediatrics, inpatient medicine, and participation in our educational conferences.
